We’re a nature interpretive centre overlooking the Cowichan Estuary, a 400 hectare estuarine ecosystem and internationally designated Important Bird Area (IBA), in the unceded and traditional territory of the Quw’utsun People. Our centre offers opportunities for visitors of all ages to learn about the estuary, Cowichan Bay, and the Cowichan and Koksilah watersheds through informative interactive exhibits and fun hands-on activities. There’s a lot to see both inside and outside the centre, including a live camera to view the heron rookery.

As a volunteer-operated, not-for-profit, registered Canadian charity, we rely on the support of our community to provide accessible conservation and education programs throughout the Cowichan and Koksilah Watershed. Each year, we admit-by-donation thousands of guests and hundreds of local students, serving as not only an ecological education center, but a tourist information center as well.

If you’re an individual or business in their season of abundance, please consider a donation to Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre in our season of growth.

Throughout Quw’utsun Territories; whether you’re in Youbou, Lake Cowichan, Sahtlam, Glenora, Duncan, Skutz Falls, Drinkwater, Mill Bay, Honeymoon Bay, Caycuse, Cowichan Station, or anywhere in between, we’re all connected by this incredible watershed, and it all flows through the estuary!

Your support allows us to continue to expand our program offerings and open hours. We receive no provincial or federal funding, and are entirely dependent on the support of donors like you.

🦅Donations can be made via CanadaHelps @ https://www.canadahelps.org/…/our-season-of-giving…/
