The Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre is a non-profit, volunteer operated, registered Canadian Charity, #764281481RR0001. Refund requests cannot be processed by volunteers, and must be brought to the attention of the executive team.
All sales, programs, and registration fees are immediately re-invested into community programming. Additionally, in accepting these dollars, we are charged fees by credit card processing companies. It is for these reasons, we are not able to offer refunds.
Program Fees:
If you’re unable to attend a program which you’ve registered for, a refund may be issued up to 14 days before the start of the program, less a $25 processing fee.
No refunds will be issued for programs already in-session, for absences, or for inclement weather cancellations. CENC may offer in-house credit for future programs at the discretion of the executive director.
If a cancellation occurs, and the program has a waitlist, CENC will attempt to re-sell the cancelled seat. If the seat can be sold to someone on the waitlist, the original purchaser will be refunded their registration fees, less a $25 processing charge (to cover staffing and processing fees.)
If CENC has to cancel a program due to staffing, funding, or low registration, those fees will be refunded in full.
Venue Rentals/Private Bookings/Birthday Parties/Vendor Fees:
Payment for venue rentals is due 30 days prior to booking. A renter may cancel their event up to 14 days prior to the event, and receive a refund less $25 processing fee. Cancellations less than 14 days prior to the booking cannot be refunded.
Gift Shop:
Items in our gift shop are sometimes handmade, and often donated items. We accept no liability for these items, but do our best to curate a quality offering. If an item you’ve purchased in our gift shop doesn’t meet your expectations due to manufacturer defect, please let us know. While we may or may not be able to offer a refund, we can connect you with the artist or company who created it, and verify your purchase.
For all refund requests, questions, or concerns, please contact our executive team.
